My First Assignment!!!

My first mission as a teacher was to renderd service in a far flung area in our district. I was assigned in Sta. Cruz, Elem. School with 18km to travel riding in a"habalhabal"as it called. I have to pay 120.00 just to reach the place. I've been a brgy. paid substitute for 2 months. I taught a combination class Grade 5&6.

During the duration of teaching experience, I discovered there the true essence of a teacher. Why did I say so??? Its because the children in a far flung area really needs and long not just for the learnings that you impart them but also for the love and care you should shown to them. I find hard for it at first, but as time passed i learned to adjust and cope up to the environment wher they belong. I tried to find ways on how to deal with them. There I applied some techniques and simple strategies that suited to there interest and capacities since they are not really a fast learners unlike those students in highways.

I said "YES", this is it. I considred this as a big challenge and opportunity to experience teaching in a remote area like this. This is my field of work, duty and responsibility that I committed.
The two months experienced is very short as it is but I will treasure every moment I spend in that place together with my students...

  1. True! Teaching is really a noble profession. Only a born-teacher can survive teaching. It's fulfilling compared to other professions, esp. if your students were able to arrive at the zenith of their dreams (fulfilling even if not well compensated). Teachers help mold the students' future .. that fact is truly satisying. Touching & molding lives is what living a life mean.
Once a teacher, will always be a teacher, kahit retire ka na, void of make-up ... "maam" or "sir" ka pa rin. LOL
Hope you will keep up your enthusiasm & love to teach, no matter what.
Good luck sa imo career. God bless!
